One of the last remaining record stores in Tucson is closing. "With great sorrow, we are announcing that PDQ Records & Tapes is closing its doors after 40 years in business, permanently," according a post on the site's Facebook page.

Maney collected surf music and met Grossi when he was selling vinyl out of the record wagon at the Tanque Verde Swap Meet. Now Maney does carpentry for Grossi at the store located at 2342 N. Photographed in 2000, Jack Grossi, owner of PDQ records, a huge Tucson store that carries a giant selection of used, popular, unusual, hard to find records, cassettes, cds, 8 tracks. etc. Here, he's lining up a needle on an old LP. Grossi feels an LP in good contition, with good equipment, provides a better sound than an equivalent CD.
