Tucson economy: Business growth lags peers

In 2017, business growth in the Tucson MSA accelerated to 0.5 percent, according to the MAP Dashboard, a project of the Business Research Center of the University of Arizona's Eller College of Management.

This ranked Tucson 10th among peer western MSAs. Despite Tucson’s low ranking this was a considerable improvement over the substantial decline during the Great Recession and the previous year.
