Jim Cantrell, CEO of Tucson-based Vector Space Systems, speaks next to a model of the company’s Vector-R rocket at Cape Canaveral.

Tucson-based Vector Space Systems is showing off its Vector-R rocket at Cape Canaveral Kennedy Space Center in Florida.

Vector, which developed the rocket to launch small satellites and other small payloads, says it plans to conduct some future launches from Cape Canaveral.

A full-scale engineering model of the Vector-R was erected at Launch Complex 46 at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station on Saturday for a press briefing and photos.

On Monday, the rocket model was taken to the nearby Kennedy Space Center, where it was erected in the outdoor “rocket garden” before being moved to an indoor area of Kennedy’s visitor complex as part of the NASA Now exhibit.
