• Sundt Construction: The University of Arizona Old Main project earned a 2017 Arizona Leader Award from the United States Green Building Council Arizona. Sundt was the general contractor for the building. The renovation won the Building Performance award. Sundt was able to merge the existing structure, constructed in 1891, with safety upgrades, a new mechanical system and replace plumbing, light and electrical systems.
  • Perfection Industrial Finishing: The company has been named one of the best finishing shops in the nation, according to an industry benchmarking survey conducted by Products Finishing magazine. Perfection, which recently celebrated its 25th anniversary, has two locations, 1155 E. Palmdale St., and one in Phoenix. The company offers an array of finishing services, including powder coating, painting, media blasting, anodizing, zinc plating, screen printing and laser and parts marking.
  • Lewis Roca Rothgerber Christie LLP: Local attorneys Rob Charles, John Hinderaker and Cindy Schmidt were recognized for their pro bono service. The firm recognized 59 individuals across all of its offices who each provided more than 50 hours of pro bono legal service in 2016. Altogether, the firm’s lawyers provided 10,850 hours of pro bono legal service last year.
  • Hughes Federal Credit Union: The locally-owned and member-owned financial cooperative received three Diamond Awards from the Credit Union National Association Marketing & Business Development Council, a national network of more than 1,200 credit union professionals from around the nation. The Diamond Awards recognize marketing and business development achievements in the credit union industry. The three awards received by Hughes were in the commercial video, one-time event, and social media categories.
  • Fennemore Craig: Five attorneys from the firm’s Tucson office have been named 2017 Southwest Super Lawyers. They are Barney M. Holtzman β€” employment and labor; John E. Kofron β€” real estate; George O. Krauja β€” business litigation; Nancy J. March β€” business bankruptcy; and Scott D. McDonald β€” business litigation. Super Lawyers is a rating service of lawyers from more than 70 practice areas who have attained a high-degree of peer recognition and professional achievement.
  • Long Realty: The company honored two of its own with lifetime professional achievement and outstanding community service awards. Taking home the Barrington Long Lifetime Achievement Award for 2017 was Susie DeConcini, an associate broker with the company’s Central office. Kelly Bequette of the Foothills office received the 2017 Sam H. Woods Community Service Award. Bequette, 58, died Nov. 5 after a motorcycle accident.
