Fry’s opened the doors to its newest Tucson store on the southwest side Friday.
Hundreds of customers showed up for the opening of Fry’s Marketplace, 1795 W. Valencia Road — the company’s first new store to be opened in Tucson since 2007.
The store will employ approximately 300 people. It features a Starbucks, sushi station, a chef-inspired bistro, a full-service gas station and a service that allows customers to order groceries online and pick them up curbside.
Fry’s ClickList service is free for the first three orders. After the third order, a service fee of $4.95 will be instituted. ClickList orders at the Valencia/Midvale Park location can be made starting Dec. 13 with pick-ups available Dec. 16. Same day order and pick up will be offered starting Dec. 16.
The service is currently available at Fry’s locations on the Northwest side at Ina and Thornydale roads, and on the southeast side at Houghton and Rita roads.
Store hours for Fry’s newest location are 5 a.m. to 11 p.m., seven days a week.
During a ribbon cutting ceremony, the store also announced a $25,000 contribution to the Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona and a gift of $5,000 to Sunnyside High School.
