Bank of America awarded grants to 15 local nonprofits that provide economic mobility resources to Tucson residents.

  • Tucson Electric Power: TEP awarded $125,000 in Community Impact Grants to help eight local nonprofit groups develop educational opportunities for kids, care for the environment and provide assistance to youth and families in need. Receiving community impact grants were Our Family Services ($30,000), Youth On Their Own ($16,500) and St. Elizabeth’s Health Center ($15,000). Education grants were awarded to the Sunnyside School District Foundation ($22,000), Act One ($10,000), JobPath ($10,000), and Make Way for Books ($10,000). The Tucson Wildlife Center received a grant for $11,500 for environmental protection and sustainability.
  • Tucson Realtors Charitable Foundation: During the first quarter of 2017, the Tucson Realtors Charitable Foundation awarded $7,500 raised for nonprofits through donations from Tucson Association of Realtor and Affiliate members. The three organizations receiving $2,500 grants are the Amphitheater Public Schools Foundation, the Arizona Theatre Company and Mobile Meals of Tucson, Inc.
  • Bank of America: The bank awarded a total of $165,000 in grants to organizations that focus on workforce development and education support, and critical needs such as hunger, homelessness, shelters and wrap around services. They are: Emerge! Center Against Domestic Abuse, Youth On Their Own, Mobile Meals of Tucson, Inc., St. Elizabeth’s Health Center, Literacy Connects, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Tucson, Community Food Bank, Inc., YWCA, Caregiver Training Institute, Inc., Interfaith Community Services, JobPath, Inc., Our Family Services, Inc., Old Pueblo Community Services, Girl Scouts of Southern Arizona, and United Way of Tucson and Southern Arizona.
  • Sundt Foundation: The foundation donated $1,000 to Step Up to Justice. Step Up to Justice is a full-service free civil legal center for low-income individuals and families in Pima County. Sundt Foundation’s gift will enable Step Up to Justice to help next-of-kin obtain minor guardianships for children whose parents are unable to care for them.
  • Aspen Dental: On June 24, nearly 450 Aspen Dental practices will provide free dental care for thousands of veterans across the nation. Tucson veterans can call 1-844-AspenHMM (1-844-277-3646) to schedule an appointment at the Aspen Dental office in Wilmot Plaza, 6303 E. Broadway. Appointments are required and available on a first-come, first-serve basis.
