For the last decade, Heath Bolin, owner of Sparkle Cleaners, has had his eye on an old Texaco gas station built in the 1950s down the block from his shop at Campbell and Glenn.

On Monday, the Tucson dry cleaner will open its doors there.

β€œWe just love the old cool building,” Bolin said Thursday. β€œWe did everything we could to keep the Texaco look so it still looks like a service station.”

Sparkle Cleaners owner Heath Bolin sets up a computer inside the old garage just down the block from the existing Sparkle location at 2643 N. Campbell Ave., which will be leased out.

The gas pumps from the old service station remain and customers will be greeted by employees donning service attendant uniforms.

Hours of operation will be 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturdays. Same-day service is available with drop-off by 11 a.m.

The relocation from 2643 N. Campbell Ave. to 2701 N. Campbell Avenue will give Sparkle Cleaners better visibility and access than the existing location, Bolin said.

Bolin is leasing the old service station from Schroeder’s Auto Service, which will continue to operate out of the garage at the rear of the property.

Finishing touches are being made to the new Sparkle Cleaners at 2701 N. Campbell in Tucson on May 4, 2017. The Sparkle Cleaners down the street at 2643 N. Campbell Ave., is moving over to the converted Texaco Gas Station and is expected to open for business on Monday, May 8, said owner Heath Bolin. It will have their trademark outdoor service counter for walk up business and a drive-through feature, Bolin said.

The existing Sparkle Cleaners property will be leased out, Bolin said.

The business provides laundry, dry cleaning, fold and wash, drapery service, leather and suede cleaning, VIP express service and shoe shining.
