After a six-month deployment, nearly 300 Davis-Monthan airmen returned home to the open arms of family and friends late Wednesday night.
The 1,200 airmen and officers, part of the largest deployment in base history, have been stationed around the globe for the past nine months. Generally, D-M has roughly 500 airmen deployed at a time. The rest of the 700 deployed troops will return at different times, but should all be home by early August.
