Arizona's Chase Jeter (4) drives around Oregon State's Zach Reichle (11) during the first half of an NCAA college basketball game in Corvallis, Ore., Thursday, Feb. 28, 2019.

CORVALLIS, Ore. β€” The Arizona Wildcats repeated the formula from their win over Oregon State last month, beating the Beavers again by outrebounding them by 16.

And no rebound was bigger than the one freshman Devonaire Doutrive picked up just before time expired, grabbing the ball off Justin Coleman's off-balance 12-footer and putting it back just before the buzzer to give UA a 74-72 upset win at Gill Coliseum on Thursday night.

The win moved Arizona to 17-12 overall and 8-8 in the Pac-12, heading into a game at Oregon on Saturday. Oregon State dropped to 17-10 and 9-6.

Arizona had 35 total rebounds, including 12 offensive boards that led to 20 second-chance points. OSU had just 19 rebounds.

In their 82-71 win over the Beavers on Jan. 19 at McKale Center, the Wildcats outrebounded OSU 41-29 and collected 21 offensive rebounds that led to 26 second-chance points.

UA guard Brandon Williams fouled out with 3:58 to go but the Wildcats still managed to take a 70-68 lead with 2:10 left when Brandon Randolph hit a runner along the left baseline. Randolph then returned to hit a 17-foot jumper to give UA a 72-70 lead entering the final minute, but OSU’s Stephen Thompson Jr. drove through the UA defense for a layup to tie the game at 72 with 24 seconds left.

Randolph led UA with 15 points, making 7 of 8 shots to break a month-long shooting slump. He shot just 15 of 56 from the field over his past six games.

Trailing by three at halftime and up to seven early in the second half, Arizona came back with a 12-3 run to take a 44-42 lead when Justin Coleman hit a 3-pointer with 14:43 to go. Ryan Luther made two free throws after OSU’s Tres Tinkle was called for a flagrant foul during that stretch.

Midway through the second half, UA center Chase Jeter fell hard and appeared to tweak his left knee. He left the court and returned with a compression sleeve, and then made a brief reappearance in the game.

Just after that, Randolph left the court after appearing to injure his lip, taking a towel to it repeatedly on the sidelines before returning shortly after.

After the teams traded leads throughout the middle of the second half, Coleman hit a 3 to give UA a 60-57 lead with 6:36 to go, but neither team pulled away from there.

Arizona outrebounded the Beavers by seven in the first half but still trailed 35-32 at halftime.

The Wildcats had 17 total rebounds in the first half, three of which were offensive boards that the Wildcats put back for a total of six points.Β

Center Chase Jeter, who suffered a back injury in that Jan. 19 game, started the trend immediately, rebounding a missed 3-pointer from Dylan Smith and putting it in 61 seconds into the game.

Totaling six points and five rebounds for the half, Jeter also picked up a foul on the play, converting the ensuing free throw and scored again to put UA off to a 5-0 start.

However, the Beavers moved ahead 12-7 at the first media timeout, getting two 3-pointers and a three-point play from Ethan Thompson. UA tied it at 12 after a 3-pointer from Brandon Williams and a layup from Dylan Smith and the game remained within two possessions the rest of the half.

Ethan Thompson and Tres Tinkle each scored 11 points to lead the Beavers in the half.

UA led 32-31 into the final minutes, but Tinkle scored inside to give the Beavers a one-point lead entering halftime and a turnover from Dylan Smith led to two turnovers from Ethan Thompson with three seconds left.
