The stage version of Disney's "The Lion King" begins its long-awaited six-week run tonight at the Tucson Music Hall (Related story, Page 26).

It's based on the 1994 animated film and features the same Elton John/Tim Rice music.

Here are some interesting trivial tidbits from the film, courtesy of the Internet Movie Database Web Site (imdb.com):

● One of the bugs that Timon pulls out of a knothole during "Hakuna Matata" is wearing Mickey Mouse ears.

● Originally titled "King of the Jungle," it was supposed to be about African lions living in the jungle — until the production team realized lions don't live in the jungle.

● It is the best-selling home video ever, with more than 55 million copies sold to date.
