A screengrab from Randy Santel's visit to Tucson in 2016 shows Santel, right, working on the OMFG Burger at Lindy's on Fourth's old location.

Competitive eater and YouTube celebrity Randy Santel is making Tucson one of his first stops of 2018.

The St. Louis bodybuilder will visit Trident’s original location at 2033 E. Speedway, at noon on Wednesday, January 3, to take on its Navy Seal burger challenge, according to his website

At $25, the Navy Seal comes with four half-pound beef patties, Muenster cheese, jalapeños, bacon, lettuce, tomato, onions and a half-pound of fries.

Customers who finish the monster meal in under 15 minutes get it on the house.

Santel, who has nearly 400,000 subscribers on his YouTube channel and 95,000 Facebook followers, might be just the guy to pull it off.

He has completed more than 550 challenges successfully, including at least one here in Tucson.

In 2016, Santel crushed Lindy’s on Fourth’s OMFG challenge, toppling the restaurant’s piled-high OMFG burger, made famous on the Travel Channel series “Man v. Food,”  in 7 minutes and 32 seconds.

After Trident, Santel will be making his way up to Phoenix where he will eat his way around the Valley of the Sun.

He is scheduled to take on Giligin’s 144 pizza roll challenge in Scottsdale on Wednesday, Jan. 3 (the same day as Trident,) Tom’s Full House sandwich challenge in Mesa on Jan. 4 for lunch and Porkopolis’ brandy bacon burger challenge on Jan. 4 for dinner.

Santel is in good company in Tucson. The city is home to nationally ranked competitive eater Michelle Lesco.

Expect to see Santel's Trident attempt on his YouTube channel or Facebook pagshortly after his visit.
