The inaugural Oro Valley Music Festival at the Golf Club at Vistoso last September was wonderful with one tiny, wet, windy exception: The wind and the rain that swept in on a late monsoon storm.

It came in spurts and spasms and nearly toppled stage towers and speakers. It got kinda scary at times as everyone ran for cover from the rain and potential flying objects.

Sadly, it pushed some artists' shows to no more than soundbites — 20 or 25 minutes at best.

Organizers are pretty sure that the monsoons will be behind us when they host OVMF round 2 on Oct. 1 and 2.

So confident, they've added a second day. Day one, presented by 97.1 The Bull, is devoted to country music. Day two, presented by My 92.9 FM, goes pop and rock.

They haven't announced the pop lineup yet, but here's who's on deck for country: Billy Currington, David Nail, Chris Janson, Dan + Shay, Cassadee Pope and Brett Young.

Tickets go on sale Friday, June 10, starting at $59 for day one and $45 for day two. Two-day passes start at $79. It costs more at the gate.
