Husband and wife duo pianist Richard Hereld and mezzo-soprano Korby Myrick will share the stage with the St. Andrew's Bach Society on Sunday.
The couple, who live in Connecticut, will perform arias by Bach and Handel, and songs by Brahms. Works by several Spanish composers and settings of Walter de la Mare's poems by American and British composers round out the program, which also includes the Arizona premiere of Hereld's song cycle "Paolo e Francesca."
Myrick was a Tucson musician before moving to Connecticut in fall 2008. She and her husband have returned to Tucson a number of times for community performances including with the Bach Society.
Sunday's concert begins at 2 p.m. at Grace St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 2331 E. Adams St. Tickets are $12 for adults, $5 for students at the door or in advance at standrewsbach.org
The concert is part of the St. Andrew's Bach Society's 25th anniversary season. The series continues Aug. 4 with the return of oboist and former Bach Society Artistic Director Lindabeth Binkley in "Bach Lives, Part II," with conductor Bruce Chamberlain leading the St. Andrew's Bach Society Chamber Orchestra. The season-ending performance of Henry Purcell's opera "Dido and Aeneas," featuring Eric Holtan and his professional Tucson Chamber Artists choir is on Aug. 18 Details: standrewsbach.org
