Tucson’s Lindy’s On 4th is listed among the top 15 college town burger joints in America.

Tempe’s 35-year-old institution The Chuckbox also made the list, compiled by College Raptor author Olivia Pittman.

The list includes burger joints from college towns throughout the country, from Athens, Georgia (University of Georgia) to Minneapolis, Minnesota (University of Minnesota-Twin Cities). Everyday cheeseburgers are ranked alongside towering bacon-cheeseburgers and fancy-schmancy sandwiches slathered in guacamole.

Lindy’s made it with its signature mac and cheese burger, the gooey macaroni spilling out with every bite.

“Lindy’s claims to turn burger-making into an art-form,” Pittman wrote. “Burgers are topped with everything from macaroni and cheese to raspberry preserves and given hilarious names. The menu also features more conventional burgers for less adventurous diners, as well as fries, tater-tots and onion rings topped in a variety of sauces.”Of The Chuckbox, she wrote that it “has been around for over 35 years, and most of its staff has been there at least half that — so they’re pretty much experts at making awesome burgers.”
