Bluefin Seafood Bistro not only survived but thrived as its home at Casas Adobes Plaza went through various stages of renovations and reconstruction throughout 2013 and '14.
And just as it was getting settled into the new rhythms of the plaza, anchored by a new and expanded Whole Foods Market, the plaza was sold. Bluefin's owners James Murphy and Jeff Azersky tried to negotiate a new lease for their 10-year-old restaurant to no avail. In March, they announced that they would close.
The restaurant will serve its last meals on Sunday, which gives you three days to experience the house favorite blue crab cake or New England clam chowder. Β Get adventurous and tuck into a plate of raw oysters on the half shell followed by gorgeously seared fat sea scallops or an ocean of seafood steamed in the house bouillabaisse. Supplies might be limited so you might not want to wait until Sunday.
Bluefin, at 7053 N. Oracle Road at West Ina Road, will be open from 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday and from 11:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday.
Murphy and Azersky also own the popular 22-year-old East Grant Road restaurant Kingfisher.
