Jackโs Original Barbecue, the iconic east side restaurant that was among Tucsonโs longest-running businesses before closing last August, is back.
Retired military couple James and Sylvia Williams will reopen Jackโs on April 6, resurrecting founder Jack Banks' original recipes and adding cornbread and collard greens to the menu.
โThereโs no doubt in my mind itโs going to be a success,โ said James Williams, whose military career revolved around dining and whose post-military career has included owning and running a Southern-style barbecue restaurant in Virginia.
โWhen you come in there itโs going to taste like youโre at your grandmotherโs house,โ he said.
Jackโs, 5250 E. 22nd St., will be open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily beginning April 6.
