The Tap Room is honoring its longtime bartender Tiger tonight with a birthday party to mark his 80th year.

Tom Ziegler has set the bar high when it comes to labeling someone a "longtime" employee.

Hotel Congress's Tap Room bartender has been bustling drinks and banter behind the bar for 54 years, which in itself deserves a celebration.

Couple that with the fact that he is turning 80 and you've got yourself a bona fide excuse to party.

And that is what Hotel Congress will do today beginning at 5 p.m. Stop in and say hey to Tiger, as he is known among the Tap Room regulars, and have an 80-cent well drink or $2 Tiger Beer from Singapore. You can also snag of piece of birthday cake, once Tiger has huffed-and-puffed out the 80 candles on top.

The Tap Room is located at 311 E. Congress St. Click here for details.
