Serial Grillers Pizza, the pizzeria born three years ago from Travis and William Miller's serial-killer-themed food truck, is opening a 40-handle taproom to showcase local and regional craft brews.

It also is adding 35 seats as it expands this week into the adjacent retail space at 5737 E. Speedway, where the Miller brothers initially opened a pizza takeout joint in summer 2013. It is the second expansion for the popular pizzeria; the first one came about nine months after they opened and added a 45-seat dining room.

The latest expansion brings the restaurant's seating to about 100 when you add in the taproom seats, Travis Miller said.

The taproom, expected to open on Wednesday, March 30, will focus on a handful of craft brews from Tucson and Phoenix, as well as craft beers from California, Oregon and Washington State.

"I think there are a few bars that concentrate on Arizona craft beers, and we didn't want to do what everyone else was doing," Miller said. "We wanted to expand people's horizons to what other states are dong."
