It's hard not to slip into your best Forrest Gump at the mere mention of the Arizona Bacon Festival:

"Bacon shrimp. Bacon ice cream. Bacon tacos. Bacon burgers. Bacon and bacon."

Of all the festivals coming our way this fall — and there are several starting with this one — Arizona Bacon Fest 2016 on Saturday* takes the prize as the tastiest.

Bacon Fest celebrates two of our favorite things: Bacon and beer. As many as 40 local chefs including some from Sir Veza's Taco Garage, Charro Steak, Brushfire BBQ Co., The Oink Cafe, Elliott's Congress, Lindy's on 4th and The Parish will incorporate bacon in their recipes. And we get to taste their finished products, as well as sampling local craft brews from 40 breweries, organizers said.

It all takes place from 5 to 9 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 17, at the Randolph Golf Complex, 600 S. Alvernon Way. It's an adults only shindig — no one under 21 allowed — and admission is $40 for unlimited food samples and 24 drink tastings. Parking is five bucks. Get tickets here
