Is this 24/7 Tucson restaurant one of the country's best?

The Tucson restaurant scene is well-known for a number of reasons, but our 24-hour dining selection is not one of them.

So it's worth revisiting a 2015 article on Tabelog that named one of Tucson's few 24/7 restaurants one of the best in the country.

Omar's Hi-Way Chef Restaurant, located inside the Triple T Truck Stop at 5451 East Benson Highway, landed the number six spot on Tabelog's list of the 12 best 24-hour restaurants in America.

"Nobody takes advantage of 24 hour restaurants like truckers," says the opening lines of the article. "So for our next place on the list we picked out a traditional truck stop."

It goes on to note that Omar's isn't just for truckers, but also a favorite spot for locals.

"Omar’s boasts an extensive menu, featuring different cuisines, homemade soups and fresh baked pies," the article continues. "But the best part is the value."
