With the AFC and NFC Championship games scheduled for this weekend and the Super Bowl right around the corner, it seems an appropriate time to start thinking about game day snacks.
DirecTV has taken some of the work out of brainstorming delicious dishes by analyzing more than 25,000 Instagram posts with #gameday to figure out which foods were mentioned the most and which received the most likes.
"Looking at the most popular #gameday posts on Instagram, we discovered a definite trend in favored foods, suggesting that while classics (like #nofilter chicken wings) still hold a special place in the heart of the nation, vegan offerings have recently taken game day by storm," the article says.
They took the analysis a step further and broke it down into favorite foods by state. Arizona- never one to follow the crowd- was one of four states to pick pizza as its favorite game day food.
