St. Philip’s Friends of Music is wrapping up its concert series, β€œSummer Sizzlers: Cool Hot Jazz for the Summer,” over the next few weeks.

First up on Sunday, Aug. 20, is the high-octane fusion of Latin, Cuban, Caribbean and West African music with AcerekΓ³, comprised of Tucson’s own Guillermo, β€œBubba” Faz β€” a Tucson Musicians Museum Hall of Famer β€” with Nick Coventry of Hot Club of Galicia on violin and children’s author and two-time Grammy nominee Enrique β€œHank” Feldman on piano and vocals.

The concert begins at 2 p.m. Sunday at St. Philip’s in the Hills Episcopal Church, 4440 N. Campbell Ave.

The series closes on Sept. 10 with the Angelo Versace Quartet led by keyboardist Angelo Versace, who heads jazz studies at the University of Arizona Fred Fox School of Music; and perennial Tucson favorites saxophonist Mike Moynihan, bass player Scott Black and drummer Pete Swan.

Admission to their concert is $15 and students with ID are free. Details: friendsofmusictucson.org
