Craig Morgan

Craig Morgan, whose songs include “Redneck Yacht Club,” is here July 15.

The Arizona Republic has a sportswriter with the same name as the country singer Craig Morgan.

So if you stumbled on @craigsmorgan on Twitter Wednesday morning like @Starburch did, thinking it was @cmorganmusic, and saw the @azcentral stories on the new @ArizonaCoyotes GM @SWPatterson, you might have gotten a little excited. We knew Craig Morgan, the Nashville-based former Army soldier turned pretty awesome country singer, loved Tucson and Arizona in general, but a Phoenix Coyotes fan? Wow, maybe he also is a fan of the Coyotes' farm team the Tucson @RoadrunnersAHL, you wonder to yourself?

But while @craigsmorgan was tweeting out his stories about ex-ASU AD Steve Patterson taking over as pres and CEO of the Coyotes on Wednesday morning, @cmorganmusic was blasting out a series of new concert dates for his "American Stories Tour," which pulls into Desert Diamond Casino's Diamond Entertainment Center on Saturday, July 15.

The show at @DiamondCasinos, 1100 W. Pima Mine Road, starts at 8 p.m. and tickets are $15 to $30 here.

Expect to hear @craigmorganmusic sing about what he loves about Sundays, the party at the bonfire, love that remembers and the thrill and pain of being "Almost Home."

As for @craigsmorgan, we think he might be penning another story about the impact @SWPatterson will make on and off the ice in Phoenix.
