Pennsylvania rockers Breaking Benjamin are releasing a new album soon, the sixth full-length record in a career that goes back to 1999.
It’s not likely the album will hit retail stores before the band comes to Tucson to headline the 2017 KFMA Fall Ball on Oct. 21. But hopefully the band, which wrapped up their end in the studio in August, will give us a preview.
Breaking Benjamin heads a lineup that includes San Diego’s Pierce the Veil; Thrice from not-far-away Irvine, California; Ohio hard-core punkers Beartooth; New York City rock trio Dreamers; and other bands yet to be announced.
The 14th annual KFMA Fall Ball Music Festival is an annual rite of fall for Tucson rock fans, an all-day headbanging blast that mixes rock in all its glory.
Pre-sale tickets ($30) go on sale at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 9, at all Tucson-area Pizza Hut locations. The price goes up to $40 on Sunday, Sept. 10. If you wait and get your ticket at the gate, it’s $50 and parking at Kino Veterans Memorial Stadium, 2500 E. Ajo Way, is an extra $10.
Officials from KFMA (102.1 FM) bill the Fall Ball as Southern Arizona’s largest outdoor fall festival. Past headliners have included Social Distortion, Rise Against, Weezer, Godsmack and Korn. For details, visit KFMA.com.
It might be the biggest music festival, but KFMA Fall Ball is not Tucson’s only fall music festival. In fact, it comes as the finale of the fall music festival season in Tucson. Here are the others:
We kick off our fall music festival season Sept. 30 with the two-day Oro Valley Music Festival. The lineup is all country on Day 1 — Lee Brice, Brothers Osbourne, Jana Kramer, Michael Ray, Brooke Eden and Oro Valley’s own Kaylor Cox — and all rock on Day 2, Oct. 1 — Train, Gavin DeGraw, Michael Franti & Spearhead, LeAnn Rimes, Echosmith and Tucson’s own Rich Berra Band.
