A wildfire burning north of Tucson since Wednesday remained at about 4,400 acres, authorities said.

It prompted an evacuation for residents of Panther Butte and Palo Verde Ranch, but it was rescinded Thursday evening. Owners of horses and livestock that had been previously evacuated were warned to keep their animals out of the area until this weekend.

On Friday morning, the wildfire was about 30% contained, according to the Arizona Department of Forestry and Fire Management.

About 160 people have been assigned to the wildfire. Helicopters have been used to drop buckets of water on hot spots.
