Two people were killed and four injured in a rollover crash on northbound I-19 near the San Xavier Road exit.

Two people were killed and four people injured when the pickup truck they were riding in crashed on northbound Interstate 19 Tuesday morning.

At least two people were ejected when the pickup truck rolled into the median near San Xavier shortly before 7:40 a.m., said Kameron Lee, an Arizona Department of Public Safety spokesman.

A male and female were pronounced deceased at the scene, but ages weren't immediately available, Lee said.

Three children and an adult female were transported to the hospital to be treated for injuries, Lee said.

The southbound lanes of I-19 were temporarily closed so that a medical helicopter could land, but have since reopened.

Traffic is restricted on northbound I-19 while DPS is clearing the scene.
