Tucson restaurants celebrate Sonoran Restaurant Week in September.

Now, they’re joining plates and forks to fete vegan fare for the inaugural Vegan Tucson Restaurant Week.

Twenty-three Tucson restaurants are participating, offering special prix fixe menus from Sunday, Dec. 1 through Saturday, Dec. 7.

“I can’t wait to see the incredible vegan dishes local restaurants create and hear about everyone’s experiences exploring plant-based cuisine around town,” Death Free Foodie‘s Hannah Hernandez said in a written statement.

Charrovida on the northwest side has a menu that leads with vegetables.

Hernandez and Tucson Foodie publisher Shane Reiser have been working on the vegan week concept for some time, inspired by the success of their quarterly Vegan Night Markets. The idea is to showcase local restaurants’ creativity in the plant-based food space in the hopes of attracting new customers to those businesses.

“Our goal is to shine a spotlight on Tucson’s amazing vegan options and inspire diners to try something new,” Reiser said in a news release. “With no participation fees for restaurants and a city-wide celebration of plant-based cuisine, this event is a win for everyone.”

Sawmill Run's menu includes a beet salad.
