Indie rocker Ani DiFranco brings her “Unprecedented Sh!t: The Tour” to Rialto Theatre on Monday, Jan. 20.
It’s part of her tour to promote her 23rd album released last May. The album, like most of the 22 that preceded it, has a story to tell, centered on her political and sociological beliefs. “Unprecedented Sh!t” delves into reproductive freedom, the pandemic, identity and the belief systems that define us.
This is DiFranco’s first Tucson show since she brought her “Living in Clip” 25th anniversary tour to Fox Tucson Theatre in 2022.

DiFranco is bringing fellow New Orleanian Joy Clark along to open the show. Clark is a rising singer-songwriter and guitarist signed to DiFranco’s Righteous Babe records, which the Buffalo, New York, native launched in the early 1990s. DiFranco has lived in New Orleans for nearly 20 years.
Monday’s show begins at 7:30 p.m. at the Rialto, 318 E. Congress St. Tickets are $36.50-$53 through rialtotheatre.com.

Pink Martini returns to Fox Tucson
The explosively fun jazz/funk/pop band Pink Martini brings its “Showers & Sunshine” 30th Anniversary Tour to Fox Tucson Theatre on Sunday, Jan. 19.
The Fox is a familiar venue for the band, which usually makes its way to us every other year or so.

Pink Martini featuring China Forbes has been performing since 1994, when Thomas Lauderdale got a few friends together to perform at local political fundraisers in his hometown of Portland, Oregon.
One thing led to another, and here we are 30 years and 16 records later.
The band, which was here last as part of the 2023 HSL Properties Tucson Jazz Festival, goes on the Fox stage, 17 W. Congress St., at 7 p.m. Tickets are $20-$87.50 through foxtucson.com.
