β€œAmerican Idol,” the long-running talent show that launched the careers of Carrie Underwood, Kelly Clarkson, Scotty McCreery and Fantasia Barrino, is holding Arizona auditions on Monday, Aug. 26.

β€œIdol” hopefuls can sign up for a virtual face-to-face live audition in front of producers, who will provide real-time feedback that could lead to a spot on Season 8 on ABC.

β€œAmerican Idol” moved to ABC in 2018 after a two-year hiatus. It aired on Fox for 16 seasons from 2002-16.

The virtual auditions constitute the first round of β€œAmerican Idol.” Those selected then move on to the live portion of the show.

This is the fifth year the show has hosted its β€œIdol Across America” virtual auditions, a nationwide search that encompasses all 50 states and Washington, D.C.
