Kids will participate in a variety of games and activities at the Ott Family YMCA's winter break camp.

Your kids can take a trip around the world without leaving town this summer.

The Ott Family YMCA summer day camp at Desert Willow Elementary, 9400 E. Esmond Loop, offers campers the chance to learn about different cultures through games, unique crafts and new foods.

The program, Y Spy Kids, begins May 31 and ends July 8, with a different theme each week. Campers will learn about silhouette art and the French language, make quill pens, investigate a crime and learn about Egyptian mummies, among other things.

In its final week, “travelers” will visit New York to learn its history and celebrate American culture. It will end with a summer potluck and talent show.

The six-week, full-day program is for children ages 5 through 12 and costs $115 per week.
