Hear all about manβs βThree Years of Silenceβ
Will Duncan said nothing for three years.
And thatβs what heβll talk about 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at St. Philipβs in the Hills Episcopal Church, 4440 N. Campbell Ave.
The silent, three-year retreat is a tradition of Tibetan Buddhism.
βI think what he came away with was not only reflections on his own experience, but how we might engage meaningfully in our modern world,β said the Rev. Greg Foraker, assistant to the rector at St. Philipβs.
Foraker says Duncan has given past talks that draw on both Buddhist and Christian traditions.
Duncan will give the free talk βThree Years of Silence: An Evening of Stories and Relevant Wisdom from Three Years of Meditationβ in the churchβs Childrenβs Chapel.
Call 299-6421 for more information.
Talk topic is Vaticanβs, Israelβs relationship
Marshall Breger, a law professor at the Catholic University of Americaβs Columbus School of Law, will discuss the legal and political relationship between the Vatican and Israel and its implications for the Arab world, according to press materials.
The free talk begins at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday at the University of Arizona Hillel Foundation, 1245 E. Second St.
It is a Rabbi Marcus Breger Memorial Lecture, part of a series by the Arizona Center for Judaic Studies.
Lent is soup season at St. John on the Desert
