One Tucson Ace Hardware really knows how to get in the Christmas spirit.

So much so that the east-side store won a national contest for β€œCoolest Christmas Store” hosted by the Ace Corporate office based in Chicago.Β

The store, located at Kolb Road and 22nd Street, used a variety of unique displays and decorations to create the Christmas wonderland.

It wasn't without a lot of work though.Β It takes about a month and a half to totally transform the store, Operations Manager D.J. Bell said.Β

The competition, which Ace began last year, narrows 5,000 Ace Hardware stores down to 15 finalists, and then asks the county to vote on its favorite display. The winner also gets $7,500 to donate to their local Children's Miracle Network Hospital, which in Tucson is TMC for Children

And for the past two years, Tucson's east-side Ace has snagged the No. 1 spot.Β

"We just want to thank everyone in the community,"Β Bell said.Β

If you want to get into the Christmas cheer, you can browse the store at 6959 East 22nd Street. The store is open 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday and Friday, and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Christmas Eve.
