This movie star paper doll series ran in the Arizona Daily Star in 1935 as an activity for children and a showcase of the “latest fashions from Hollywood for particular women.”

The Star’s Johanna Eubank, jeubank@tucson.com, a fashion design major in college, found them in our archives at tucson.com/archives. We couldn’t resist sharing them and well as the ad from Steinfeld’s, the most elegant store in town.

This is the second in our Time Machine series, which began June 13, with Star front pages over the last century. We’d be delighted to hear your thoughts about this project and to see what you make with these dolls or if your family member is featured on the back page. Send your comments and photos to jeubank@tucson.com. Thanks for reading the Star.

Note: When printing PDFs, set the size to "fit to page" and use the largest paper your printer will handle.
