Dean Pielstick, the kenpho of the Awam Tibetan Buddhist Institute, leads a Tibetan Yoga session at the groupโs space. Pielstick wanted to change the fact that the local Buddhist organizations did not know much about one other.
The Awam Tibetan Buddhist Institute, 3400 E. Speedway, will host its monthly movie and potluck party 6 to 8:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 18.
The institute will show the film "Mystic Tibet: An Outer, Inner and Secret Pilgrimage" and asks visitors to bring food to share and a donation toward the monthly rent.
