Ah, rodeo.

School’s out Feb. 26 and 27 (or in some cases the whole darn week) and the parade only lasts for so long. Then, what are you gonna do with the kids? You have to do something because kid default mode is fighting with sibs — or endless, aimless noodling on the iPad.

A few local, kid-centric businesses are offering specials while school’s out. Or, take advantage of the fact that most of Tucson is stuck at work and do some things that are virtually impossible during busy weekdays.

Five suggestions:

1. Playformance. The downtown indoor fitness and games space, 119 E. Toole Ave., has a weeklong camp. Choose full or half day or just opt for a day or two. Prices range from $30 a day to $250 for full-day camp the entire week. Early and after care also available.

2. Skate Country. The eastside skating rink is open all day Thursday and Friday for Rodeo Skate. Different skate sessions are available. Admission price starts at $4 and skate rental is an additional charge.

3. Friday farmers market at Trail Dust Town. From 9 a.m.-1 p.m., stroll the charming, kid- and stroller-friendly space, 6541 E. Tanque Verde Road, while shopping for fresh fruits and veggies, popcorn, olive oil, granola and — most importantly — caffeine, er, coffee for the parents.

4. Go out for breakfast. Is there any greater luxury than fancy pancakes on a weekday? Our suggestion: snickerdoodle pancakes from Baja Cafe, 7002 E. Broadway.

5. Get out. Outside, that is. It’s a given that the weather will be beautiful, so why not take advantage of any of the wonderful outdoor spots all over town? Ride bikes around Udall Park or explore Sabino Canyon. Just soak up the sun — after slathering on sunscreen, of course.
