5 places where you can celebrate Mardi Gras tonight in Tucson
- Updated
This year Mardi Gras falls on February 13, 2018, which is the day before Valentine's Day, so many are celebrating both days. However, keep in mind that Valentine's Day is also Ash Wednesday, so if you fast or give up sweets for Lent, you may have to celebrate early.
Monterey Court — 505 W. Miracle Mile
UpdatedThe French Quarter String Band will host the Second Annual Fat Tuesday Celebration at Monterey Court, 505 W. Miracle Mile, from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
The evening will feature New Orleans music, food and drink specials for a $5 cover.
Reservations are recommended. 207-2429.
The Parish Gastropub — 6453 N. Oracle Road
UpdatedThe Parish Gastropub, Tucson's little piece of New Orleans at 6453 N. Oracle Road, is going all out this Mardi Gras, with live music all day, a crawfish boil and smoked alligator on the menu.
The restaurant is serving on a first-come, first serve basis, from 2 p.m. to midnight. Entrance fee is $10. Visit theparishtucson.com for more information.
La Cocina — 201 N. Court Ave.

The evening runs from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Hotel Congress — 311 E. Congress St.
UpdatedHotel Congress is billing their Mardi Gras festivities, set to be held in the hotel plaza area, as "Tucson's biggest Mardi Gras party"...and they are probably right.
The Hotel will feature the best in Louisiana cuisine (muffulettas, jambalaya,
gumbo), drink (Abita beer, hurricanes, Sazeracs) and entertainment (Carnivaleros, DJ Carl Hanni).
There will be face painting and tarot card readings and what Congress is calling Arizona's largest King Cake. Yum!
The fun starts at 6 p.m.
Casa Film Bar — 2913 E. Speedway
UpdatedCasa Film Bar will celebrate Mardi Gras by showing movies and documentaries throughout the day that reflect New Orleans and overall Louisiana culture.
Expect to see short films by filmmaker Les Blank and classic movies, such as the 1959 film "Black Oprheus," a Rio de Janeiro carnaval retelling of the Greek tale of Orpheus and Eurydice.
The films will run from 6 p.m. to 1 a.m.
