Miss Saigon Bar & Grill Vietnamese restaurant has pulled out of its two Marana locations including one that was in the path of a years-long highway project on West Ina Road and Interstate 10.
But the restaurant at 4650 W. Ina Road, near I-10, could have new life once the road work is finished, Miss Saigon officials said. The owners anticipate reopening once construction wraps up.
The Miss Saigon location at 8225 N. Courtney Paige Way just up I-10 at North Cortaro Road, however, is gone for good, an official said. The restaurantโs lease was up and the business did not fare well in the area that has four other Asian food options including Sushi Cortaro in the same plaza.
Miss Saigon, which serves Vietnamese and Thai food, was the last restaurant standing in the I-10/Ina Road area once crews came in and tore up Ina as part of the $2.1 billion highway interchange reconstruction project. Miss Saigonโs neighbors, including a Jack In the Box fast-food outpost, Chuyโs Mesquite Broiler and Waffle House, called it quits long before the jackhammers and bulldozers started tearing up Ina Road in February. Miss Saigon joined them in late July.
Road work is expected to continue into 2019.
Miss Saigon has three other locations: 250 S Craycroft Road, 47 N. Sixth Ave. and 1072 N. Campbell Ave.
