Grizzly Bear Recovery in the northern Rockies has been a wildlife success story, especially within the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem. But with success comes responsibility. For Grizzly Bear Specialist, Jeremiah Smith, that responsibility involves community engagement and bear conflict management.

Endangered Species Act protection for grizzlies could end or be revised by January under a new FWS plan in response to demands by Montana, Idaho and Wyoming leaders.
The bear was killed on Highway 26/89 in Snake River Canyon, south of Jackson, Wyoming. The bear's identity was confirmed through ear tags and a microchip.
