Gas prices kept falling this week across Arizona, Tucson and the nation as crude-oil prices declined and demand slackened, AAA says.

The statewide average gas price fell about 8 cents per gallon in a week to $3.89 per gallon of regular on Friday while the national average also was down 8 cents at $3.44 per gallon.

Tucson had the state's lowest average gas price at $3.61 per gallon, down 16 cents in a week, while Scottsdale had the state's priciest gas at an average $4.09 per gallon.

Arizona's average gas price is down about 70 cents from last month and about 35 cents lower than that same time last year, according to AAA.

Gas prices should continue to fall on lower demand in the near term, unless heightened tensions amid the Israel-Hamas war in Gaza prompt a surge in oil prices.
