South Tucson police officers were working two possible shots fired incidents Friday night on South Sixth Avenue in which one man was found injured at a fast-food restaurant.

In the first incident, officers responded to Sixth Avenue and East 29th Street, for a report of an injured person, said Police Chief Michael Ford.

A McDonald's restaurant is at that corner.

Officers found a man with a head injury and the man was treated by paramedics and taken to a hospital.

"We have not confirmed his injuries are related to gunshots," Ford said.

When officers were responding to the first call, there were reports of shots fired in a parking lot at Martinez Funeral Chapel at 2580 S. Sixth Ave., said Ford. The chapel is near East 36th Street.

"We are treating it as an active scene, and there have been no reports of any injuries," said Ford shortly after 9 p.m.

He said people were being escorted out of the chapel one by one.
