Heads up, motorists.

Motorists traveling along Interstate 10 at Wilmot Road in Tucson should expect delays Thursday night for construction work, officials say.

Crews will be working overnight from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. on the new bridge.

According to the Arizona Department of Transportation:

β€’ On Thursday, Oct. 25, motorists on both directions of I-10 should expect lane closures.

β€’ From the evening of Sunday, Oct. 28, through early Wednesday, Oct. 31, the left lane of eastbound I-10 will be closed.

"The project to replace and repave the bridge deck will be complete by the time we’re trick-or-treating next week," said Tom Herrmann, an Arizona Department of Transportation spokesman.

He said the bridge work is a month ahead of schedule and benefits drivers by not sending them on the off-ramp and on-ramp at Wilmot Road.

When work is complete, traffic will use the permanent westbound I-10 bridge deck, an ADOT news release said.

Drivers should slow down and be aware of construction crews and equipment.
