Jacob Sosa, 16, left, and Trystn Montoya, 17, face second-degree murder charges in connection with the killing last week of two 18 years olds on Tucson's south side.

Two teens are facing charges in connection with the killing of two men last week on the city's south side, Tucson police say.

Jacob Sosa

In the Sept. 18 killing, the body of Bryan Antonio Torres, 18, was found on the pavement of South Fremont Avenue near East Calle Nevada, near South Park Avenue and East Irvington Road, Tucson police have said.

The body of Emir Arreola-Morales, 18, was then found in a vehicle down the street, police said.

Both men had been fatally shot, police said.

Jacob Sosa, 16, and Trystn Montoya, 17, now face charges of second degree murder in connection with last week's killing, police said Tuesday in a news release.

Sosa, who was arrested Friday near South Mission and West Irvington roads, has been booked into the Pima County jail. Bond was set at $1 million, police said in Tuesday's news release.

Trystn Montoya

Detectives had an arrest warrant for Montoya on identical charges. But Monday, police say they learned Montoya had been arrested by police on Clovis, New Mexico on suspicion of first degree murder, the release said.

Montoya is now being held at the Lea County Detention Facility and is awaiting extradition, the release said.
