Cooler temps and mild conditions this morning give way to strong and gusty southwest winds this afternoon. As usual, localized blowing dust is possible, which will test out the effectiveness of the "glue" that was applied to a large field west of San Simon last week, that had frequently been a source of freeway-closing blowing dust in the past several weeks. A Wind Advisory is in effect for parts of Southeastern Arizona.
The winds, along with dry conditions, create critical fire weather conditions, and a Red Flag Warning has been issued from noon to 7 p.m.
