Northwest Fire District crews respond to an attic fire that displaced a family Jan. 11, 2017. No one was home at the time of the fire, said fire Capt. Brian Keeley.Β

A family was displaced Wednesday night from their northwest-side home because of an attic fire, authorities said.

Northwest Fire District crews were dispatched to the 3000 block of West Wildwood Drive shortly before 8:30 p.m. to reports of smoke and flames coming from the eaves of a house, said Capt. Brian Keeley.

The neighborhood is west of North Shannon and south of West Orange Grove roads.

Twenty firefighters brought the blaze under control in 20 minutes, Keeley said.

No one was home at the time of the blaze. The family, who lived in the house, arrived shortly after the fire crews arrived.

The Northwest Fire Community Assistance Team, along with the Southern Arizona Chapter of the American Red Cross, assisted the family and provided them with a place to stay, said Keeley.

The cause of the fire is under investigation. A monetary damage loss was unknown, Keeley said. Β
