Atlantic County Freeholder Ashley Bennett appeared on the most recent cover of TIME Magazine with other women around the country who ran or are running for public office.

New Atlantic County Freeholder Ashley Bennett was one of dozens of influential women who made the cover of the most recent edition of TIME Magazine.

The magazine cover is titled “The Avengers: First they Marched, now they’re Running” and highlighted women around the country who ran or are running for public office.

Tanzie Youngblood, who will run in the Democratic primary for a seat in the 2nd Congressional District, also appeared on the cover.

“It’s quite surreal,” Bennett said. “I’m just honored to be included with so many inspiring women.”

Bennett, who was sworn onto the board earlier this month, defeated former Freeholder John Carman, who posted a meme on Facebook disparaging the Women’s March on Washington in 2017.

It was that meme that prompted Bennett to run, and her victory over Carman became a national story that landed her an interview on MSNBC’s Lawrence O’Donnell show and now the cover of TIME Magazine.

Bennett will also be speaking at the Women’s March in New York City this Saturday in Central Park.
