Religious statues were vandalized at a shrine off Arizona Highway 80 near Bisbee, authorities said. The Cochise County Sheriff's Office received a report of the vandalism Aug. 7 and deputies are investigating, said Carol Capas, a sheriff's spokeswoman.

A large statue of Our Lady of Guadalupe and other religious statues were vandalized at a roadside shrine near Bisbee.

The Cochise County Sheriff's Office is investigating the vandalism that was reported Aug. 7. The shrine is off Arizona Highway 80 at milepost 335, between Tombstone and Bisbee, said Carol Capas, a sheriff's spokeswoman.

Deputies found Our Lady of Guadalupe statue broken off at the base and the top portion of the statue missing, Capas said.

Three smaller statues — two of St. Jude Thaddeus and one of the Sacred Heart of Jesus — had its heads broken off and taken.
