Writers who rock — The Rock Bottom Remainders, a group of best-selling authors who perform together kick off the Tucson Festival of Books on March 13. Tickets are still available. For now.

These writers rock. Literally.

The Rock Bottom Remainders, an oldies-rock cover band whose members are best-selling authors, will kick off the festival on March 13 with a concert that replaces the Authors Table dinner this year. Tickets are still available. For now.

The band lineup includes authors whose books are probably on your shelves — Amy Tan, Mitch Albom, Dave Barry, Scott Turow, Ridley Pearson, Alan Zweibel and Greg Iles. Between them, they’ve published more than 150 titles and sold more than 350 million books.

The concert replaces the annual Authors Table dinner for this year. The band-member authors, who receive the festival's Founders Award for their body of work, will be available for mixing and mingling and will be presenting at the festival, too.

Here are the concert specifics:

When: 8-9:30 p.m. March 13 (doors open at 7:15 p.m.).

Where: University of Arizona Student Union Memorial Center Grand Ballroom.

Cost: $75 ($40 may be tax deductible).
