Two men were injured in a two-vehicle crash on Interstate 10 near Marana Friday evening.

The men were taken to Banner-University Medical Center Tucson in stable condition with non-life threatening injuries, said Capt. Adam Goldberg, a Northwest Fire District spokesman.

Firefighters and paramedics responded to I-10, near the Avra Valley road exit to a report of a crash at 6:30 p.m.

A Ford F-250 truck and a Mazda3 car were both traveling east on the interstate when the vehicles collided, causing both vehicles to leave the freeway and land onto the westside shoulder of the roadway, between the freeway and the frontage road, said Goldberg.

During the crash, the vehicles destroyed a large highway sign indicating the exit to Avra Valley Road.

The truck overturned and came to rest on its roof, trapping the 36-year-old driver who was extricated from the truck.Β

The 35-year-old driver of the car also needed to be extricated from the vehicle, said Goldberg.

Both drivers were wearing their seatbelts. No passengers were in either vehicle.

Officers with the Arizona Department of Public Safety were investigating the crash. Β
