A man was arrested Wednesday in connection with a shooting death in June on the city’s south side, police said.

Hector Molina, 18, faces a first-degree-murder charge and was booked into the Pima County jail, said Sgt. Pete Dugan, a Tucson Police Department spokesman.

On June 13 at about 7:30 a.m., a 911 caller reported a man lying in the middle of the road on East Old Vail Connection Road, near South Country Club Road, Dugan said. The desert area is south of the East Hughes Access Road.

The victim, Rafael Siquieros-Tapia, 20, was shot and found dead in the road, Dugan said.

Detectives said that Siquieros-Tapia and Molina β€œwere engaged in a drug offense,” according to a news release. No further information was immediately available.
