This man captured on surveillance video is wanted in connection to a bank robbery of a Wells Fargo branch inside a Safeway at 2940 W. Valencia Road Sept. 11, 2015, authorities said.Β

Deputies were searching for a man in connection to a robbery of a Wells Fargo branch inside a Safeway supermarket southwest of the city Friday.

Shortly before 3 p.m., Pima County Sheriff's deputies responded to the branch inside the supermarket at 2940 W. Valencia Road, said Deputy Tom Peine, a sheriff's department spokesman.

Detectives found out that a man with a light complexion had approached a teller and demanded money. The man implied a weapon, Peine said.

The teller handed over an undisclosed amount of cash, and the man left the store. He was last seen walking eastbound from the Safeway.

Witnesses told investigators that the man walked around inside the Safeway before the robbery, said Peine. Detectives obtained video footage that confirmed what witnesses said.

Peine said the robber was described as Hispanic with a light complexion. He had a mustache and light brown eyes. He was middle-aged and about 5 feet 8 inches tall.

He weighed about 270 pounds, and was last seen wearing a black San Francisco 49ers hat, and a long-sleeved maroon striped shirt, said Peine.

Anyone with information on the man's identity or whereabouts is asked to call 911 or 88-CRIME.Β
